Who we are
This site is not interested in you or your data, but some places require a privacy policy in place, and so this is a boilerplate which we have edited to suit this site as best as possible. The short version is we aren’t following you, and we do our best to avoid creating links that use tracking codes from other sites.
This policy is for: https://www.vermontfarmcam.com.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments
Currently comments are disabled on The Vermont FarmCam site. Visitor’s rarely leave them, and leaving them open leaves the site open to comment spam and hacking. However, if someone leaves comments on the site, the site collects the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from an email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available on their website. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies
Again, comments are currently disabled on the site; however, if one were to leave a comment they may opt-in to saving their name, email address and website in cookies. These are for the convenience of the visitor so they do not have to fill in details again when leaving future comments. These cookies will last for one year unless the visitor clears them from their browser prior to that time.
Registering is disabled on the site; however, if someone did visit the login page, a temporary cookie is placed to determine if the browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when the browser is closed.
If one were able to log in, several cookies are set to save login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If “Remember Me” is selected, the login will persist for two weeks. If one logs out of an account, the login cookies will be removed.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor interactions with the embedded content, including tracking interactions with the embedded content if a visitor has an account with the third party and they are logged in to that website at the time of their visit here. Every effort is made to strip tracking code from links to these third parties before adding them to the site.

How long we retain your data
If one could leave a comment (which currently isn’t enabled), the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is for recognizing and approving any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on the website (if any, and currently disabled), the site also stores the personal information provided in the created user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
We do not allow users to create accounts at this time; however, if one has left comments, they can request to receive an exported file of the personal data held, including any data provided. One may also request the erasure of any personal data held. This does not include any data that is obliged to be kept for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
